In April this year my grandfather suffered a major stroke. He is a major part of Palette and was heavily involved in the gallery, attending every opening night without fail. I would like to take this opportunity to get the community involved and raise money for stroke research and victims, through the Stroke Foundation.

West Australian artists are invited to submit entries. 

There is a People’s Choice award to be announced at the conclusion of the exhibition, which includes a monetary prize, art supplies, a Palette voucher and more.

Terms and Conditions of Entry

ENTRIES CLOSE 4pm Friday 4th August 2023

Artwork Delivery: Sunday 6th August 3-5pm, Monday 7th August 10am-3pm

All accepted work will be exhibited from 10th August - 3rd September 2023 and will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition.

ELIGIBILITY

• Artwork must not exceed 40 x 40cm in size, including framing or base/support (2D or 3D)
  

• Artists can enter up to 4 artworks
  

• Artists at all stages of their career are encouraged to enter but must live in Western Australia.
  

• 2D and 3D artwork will be accepted, in any medium
  

• The artwork must be available for exhibition from 10th August - 3rd September 2023

• Artwork must be delivered to Palette Fremantle during the prescribed times of
  Sunday 6th August 3-5pm, Monday 7th August 10am-3pm

• By entering, you are confirming that you are the creator and owner of the entered artwork(s)
  

• The People’s choice award will be judged by ballot box. Any gallery visitors are welcome to vote with a limit of one vote per person. The votes will be counted at 4pm 3rd September
  

• All artworks will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition and prices must include the 20% commission which goes directly to The Stroke Foundation.
  

Palette Fremantle reserves the right to refuse to accept and display artwork(s) if:

• The artwork is not of sufficient artistic or technical merit.
  

• The 2D work is not appropriately presented/framed, with appropriate D rings and wire attached to the back for hanging.
  

• The artwork is larger than 40cm x 40cm, in any direction (height/width/depth), including framing or base/support
  

• The artwork poses a safety risk
  

• The artwork could be considered offensive in terms of pornographic content, character denigration, racial or religious prejudice.
  

ENTRY

• Entries close 4pm Friday 4th August 2023
  

• Download Entry Form here or pick up a printed Entry Form from Palette Fremantle.
  

• All artworks must be delivered to Palette Fremantle during the prescribed times of Sunday 6th August 3-5pm and Monday 7th August 10am-3pm and MUST be clearly labelled with name and title.
  

• One entry form may be submitted for all 4 works, however each work MUST have an artwork ENTRY LABEL on the back.

HANDLING

All artworks will be handled with utmost care by experienced staff. However, Palette Fremantle will not be held responsible for any loss or damage caused while work is in transit to and from the gallery.

IMAGE REPRODUCTION

Entrants agree to allow Palette Fremantle to reproduce (photograph) entered artwork in all publicity and promotion of Moments. This does not affect the copyright of the work.

Images of the artwork may be published on the Palette Fremantle website and social media sites.

OPENING EVENT

An opening will be held on Thursday 10th August 2023 5-7:30pm; all entrants are invited to attend. This event is open to the public. Food will be provided. Drinks from our sponsors can be purchased at discounted rates.

COLLECTION OF ARTWORKS

The exhibition closes on Sunday 3rd September 2023. Unsold works can be collected after 4pm (until 6pm) on the 3rd September or the following Tuesday or Wednesday during the gallery’s normal business hours.

All artworks need to be collected ASAP after the exhibition closes.
